Deltawerk //
Land Art Flevoland, rijksmonument Waterloopbos
In het voormalige Waterloopkundig laboratorium bevraagt Deltawerk // het streven naar een voor natuurkrachten onverwoestbaar Nederland in tijden van klimaatverandering en zeespiegelstijging. Het locatie-specifieke kunstwerk is tevens een experiment in actieve ruïnevorming dat ruimte biedt aan niet-menselijke levensvormen en in de loop der tijd transformeert.
Naast de verschillende hellingen van de platen is de betonnen huid van het kunstwerk bewust open gezandstraald om een scala aan condities te scheppen voor andere levensvormen. In de loop der tijd transformeert Deltawerk // wanneer mossen, korstmossen, varens, insecten, vissen en andere soorten het koloniseren.
Teams van gespecialiseerde vakmensen zijn actief betrokken bij het maakproces van onze kunstwerken. Bij Deltawerk // zijn dit o.a. Chris Veldhuizen en Ruud de Graaf (Dikkerboom Betonboringen), Marcel Hompert (Hompert-Renes Zandstralen) en korstmosspecialist Albert Aptroot.
